I think it's been something like 2 1/2 weeks since I made a post on here. To say the least, a lot has happened. I started with the English club for professors a couple of weeks ago. That's been going better and better each meeting. I just hope they really get something out of it because they're there to help themselves improve professionally. So, I want to make sure I'm doing all that I can to help them. The conversation class for girls starts next Thursday (September 9th). I'm looking forward to seeing how that class compares to the professors' class. I have a feeling that it will be very relaxed and fun, even more than the professors' club is. I hope that the girls don't think I'm too boring. I'll stick in some stuff about teenage boys to get them excited.
Besides teaching and making lesson plans, life here in Ibague is changing a little. I'm getting settled in more. Fencing helps a lot because of the consistency and the people there. The people here in Ibague are amazing in general. I have yet to meet someone that isn't nice and smiling. I probably just jinxed myself, but seriously, it seems like no matter what I need or how long it will take, whoever it is agrees to help me or drive me or whatever it takes, which is probably why everyone is always late to everything.
I went on my first trip outside of Ibague this past weekend to Villa de Leyva, Paipa, Tunja, etc. Yes, the elusive Villa de Leyva, the mirage in the sky. The point of the trip was to get to Villa de Leyva to do some rappelling, canopying, and stuff, but we got there only three or four hours before we were supposed to come back on Sunday! But, the trip was good. A nice break from reality here. More soon. Maybe.
